Domaine Peirière

A 400-year-old family estate

Domaine Peirière is a large wine estate in the heart of the Minerve area. Olivier, an expert vintner who inherited the property and the family tradition, carefully tends the vines.

The 230-hectare estate, in the heart of the Minervois appellation area, gets plenty of sunshine year round but cools down at night because the Montagne Noire is nearby, resulting in an ideal climate that fosters the development of the grapes' aromas. Thirty years ago it was replanted will the full range of sun-loving varieties. The harvest, which takes place at night, is completely fermented on the estate in cellars boasting state-of-the-art equipment.

Our red varieties

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon

Slow ripening in Languedoc's climate produces grapes that yield a rich, powerful wine with strong aromas of ripe fruit.

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir

This delicate, thin-skinned variety requires the savvy of an excellent winemaker. Olivier knows how to get the best out of pinot: a modern, fruity style.

Merlot

The 40-year-old vines, associated with Azille's microclimate and Olivier's know-how, produce wines with red fruit aromas combining concentration and velvety tannins.

Olivier's father was the first to plant syrah in Languedoc. He chose a variety producing small, very aromatic grapes with slightly spicy violet notes.

Training the vines on high trellises produces very ripe grapes and a rich, balanced style bursting with freshness.

Located at the foot of the Montagne Noire, the estate benefits from the alternation of hot days and cool nights: an ideal climate for the development of lime and citrus aromas.

Viognier

Viognier

a recently rediscovered variety native to Languedoc that thrives in hot climates. It is harvested at night in order to preserve its peach and apricot aromas.

Grenache Rosé

The direct pressing of grapes from old Grenache Noir vines followed by low-temperature fermentation enhances the aromas of red fruits and its high aromatic finesse.
