New Zealand, a drop in the global grape industry but a world-wide success

New Zealand represents only 1% of global vineyard but against all expectations it produces exceptional wines, recognized all around the world !

This country famous for its spectacular wild landscapes is also well-known for the qualitity of its wines. This is the proof that quality does not necessarily mean quantity . Besides that, all conoisseurs say that Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand is the best in the world.

Vineyards benefit from the moderating effect of the maritime climate and the diversity of the soils. It produces aromatic, spicy , intense and complex wines which reflects the exuberance of this land located of the far side of the world.  Let's discover Malborough and Hawke"s Bay, the regions where our Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot noir come from.

History

Marlborough is New Zealand's biggest wine-producing region. Since the early 1970s its main claim to fame has been sauvignon blanc, the country's quintessential variety, which offers aromas unlike any others in the world.

Marlborough makes up 62% of New Zealand's vineyards. Its sharp climate contrast between hot, sunny days and chilly nights slows down the ripening of the grapes, which enables wine-makers to draw out unmatched aromas and flavours.

Hawke's Bay is the second wine-producing region. Its benign climate and high sunshine have long-established the region as ideal for fruit-growing.

Our brand 3 WOOLY SHEEP is a wink, a humoristic reference to this country which is home to 4 million people and 40 million sheep !
